New Authors [6/10]

So I have been doing really well on reading up on new authors. Here are a couple of my reviews. I am pretty sick, so I didn't have the energy to finish. I also counted the duo of good omens as one author. Besides the two reviewed below, I also read "Wizard's First Rule" by Terry Goodkind (2 stars) and "The Wayfarer Redemption" by Sara Douglass (4 stars).

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett

rating: 3 of 5 stars
I found that I enjoyed the angel and demon characters in this book and that's about all. I just couldn't seem to care about the other characters. The plot really dragged in the middle of the book (coincidentally when the angel and demon are mostly absent). The ending was enjoyable, and I found that I got into the last few pages of the book. I think there are plenty of people who would really enjoy this book, I just wasn't one of them.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars
I gave the book four stars, probably because I loved the first half. I found myself caught up in watching the relationship between Bella and Edward develop, particularly watching Edward struggle with who he was and how he would reconcile with that part of himself



The second part of the book seemed thrown in so that the author had 'plot' and while I didn't NOT like it, it seemed to be in a different direction than the rest of the book. I did enjoy the ending, and I loved the conversation between the two main characters.



I'll probably read the rest of the series down the line.
